July 2 - Next week is the Green Party's National Convention. In Chicago, Illinois, Greens will choose their Presidential Candidate. After primaries in 28 states, the nominee is likely to be former US Representative of Georgia Cynthia McKinney. But beyond choosing a Presidential nominee, the Green Party will be compiling their national platform.
.. We want to relay that we're the party thats been pushing single payer health care, pushing to end the war in Iraq, pushing for solar, and geo-thermal, and wind power. All the things that the Democrats, and Republicans and other people just got on board with, maybe a year ago, we've been pushing since we've existed.
And now it seems to be a trendy thing to talk about the environment, and we feel that its not just a trendy thing. We feel that if we don't talk about it and save it, we're not going to have an environment. We also feel that 50 million Americans shouldn't be without health insurance.
