Apr. 14, Interview - Now we turn to the Democratic Party's plans for Denver. Denver has
been undergoing a major face lift in preparation for the hundreds of thousands
of delegates, journalists, party activists, elected officials, and protesters
expected.
The Democratic Party promised to contribute 55 million dollars
for week long event in late August. How's it going, we ask DNC spokesperson
Natalie Wyeth.
"..we took a different approach this year, we didn't go to New York, we
didn't go to Los Angeles.
We came to more of a mid-sized city that's really
typical and characteristic of the kind of growth and opportunity we're seeing
out here in the West, especially for leaders from our own party. You look
at some of the governors we have now, for the Democratic Party, in office
in the West, they we're there in 2000. You look at seats in Arizona, Colorado,
Montana, Wyoming, on and on, these are all new folks. And they're really
representative of the kind of leadership our party is putting forward at
all levels."
You will find audio, video, blogs, and hard-hitting analysis from progressive journalists. Each day, unravel the double speak of candidates and media pundits, with news and alternative perspectives about the critical issues.
