Obama picks up Iowa Delegates; McCain in Iraq PDF Print E-mail

Mar. 17, Headlines - Iowa held it's Democratic county convention Saturday where delegate tallies give Senator Barack Obama additional delegates, expanding his delegate lead. Obama received 9 additional delegates, many coming from the former candidate Senator John Edwards. Hillary Clinton lost one delegate.

Obama met with journalists and the editorial board from the Chicago Tribune about his connections to indicted developer 'Tony' Rezko. The paper has been asking for this meeting for more than a year. After 90 minutes of questions, the paper wrote in an editorial that Obama they are 'pleased with his response and level of openness'.

Obama with supporters from IowaSenator John McCain traveled to Baghdad and met with US and Iraqi officials there. McCain, a defender of the war who often calls Iraq the central front in the war on terror, spent about 24 hours in Iraq media reports say. McCain is also traveling to Israel, Jordan, and Great Britain where one of his events will be a political fundraiser.
