Mar. 18, Interview - Barack Obama's pastor is not the only one embroiled in political controversy. Pastor John Hagee a religious leader at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio who endorsed the presumptive Republican nominee John McCain. Hagge has made controversial statements about Catholicism, Islam, and homosexuals. One of his many controversial statements is when he said that God punished New Orleans's abundance of sin with Hurricane Katrina.

Eric Alterman, author of Why We're Liberals says a disparity exists in media scrutiny of the two cases.

"If you look at the outrageous things that have been said by conservative pastors that haven't gotten this much attention and how much closer those pastors are to the candidates."

Pastor John Hagee Alterman says McCain has distanced himself from Pastor Hagee. But "he hasn't been forced to denounce the minister himself."

John McCain told Fox News last week that it is unfair to judge Barack Obama for the comments of his pastor.
