August 15 - Each week, KPFK News Director Patrick Burke brings
together an unusual panel of guests to talk about election issues. He invites
a Republican and a Democratic strategist or official in studio with an organizer
from outside the two mainstream parties. This week, Patrick spoke with Independent
Vice Presidential Candidate Matt Gonzalez and Democratic strategist Bill Carrick
by phone. Republican Jewish Coalition representative Larry Greenfield was in
the studio.

July 14 - The Green Party has chosen Cynthia McKinney to be the party's presidential nominee. The choice was clear after the first round of balloting in Chicago. McKinney, the former US Representative of Georgia, won more than 300 of the 500 delegate votes available.

July 10 - Today is the start of the Green Party's Political Convention. In Chicago, Illinois, the party's Presidential nominee will be decided among 4 Presidential, including front runner former US Representative of Georgia, Cynthia McKinney and her running mate, Rosa Clemente, Activist, Organizer and Journalist. Former Green Presidential candidate and Professor at Morgan State University, Jared Ball, says this convention marks an exciting time for American politics.

July 2 - Next week is the Green Party's National Convention. In Chicago, Illinois, Greens will choose their Presidential Candidate. After primaries in 28 states, the nominee is likely to be former US Representative of Georgia Cynthia McKinney. But beyond choosing a Presidential nominee, the Green Party will be compiling their national platform.

Ralph Nader, Independent candidate for President is busy securing his place on state ballots for the 2008 election. He successfully achieved access on the ballot of a fourth state, Colorado. His goal – to be on 40 states ballots.

June 10 - Last fall, while the presidential hopefuls from the two major parties were gearing up for a season of primary elections, the Socialist Party USA chose their 2008 presidential
nominee. He's Brian Moore, of Spring Hill, Florida, just north of Tampa. But,
as Seán Kinane reports, being the nominee of a minor
party does not necessarily mean you'll voters will get to vote for him or her.
