With 24,000 union workers along the US West Coast, against the wishes union leaders, rank and file workers plan to use what they call their biggest leverage, a work stoppage to tell Democratic leaders that the war has gone on long enough.

Mar. 28, Headlines - In an address on the economy, just a couple miles away from Wall Street at the historical Cooper Union, Barack Obama proposed to clamp down on the lending and mortgage industry, promising tighter regulation of careless practices from Wall Street.

Mar. 26, Interview - The AFL-CIO's 53 million dollar campaign is more than they've ever spent in an election year. The money is not organized through a Political Action Committee, instead allowable through a special outlet for unions called 501c5. It's highly regulated. It does not allow for direct campaigning of candidates. But it's well funded and influential, attempting to persuade members and their families to vote for labor friendly officials.
