Obama Releases Tax Returns; Ohio Audits Primaries

Mar. 26, Headlines - Barack Obama posted seven years worth of tax returns on his website, his Communications Director Robert Gibbs, announced:

"We've put seven years of tax returns on the internet today. In a little over 2 weeks we'll add another year of tax returns, full tax returns with schedules.

We feel pretty good that that's a commitment to open government and transparency that quite frankly has not been met by either of the two remaining candidates in this race."

Barack ObamaObama's tax records reveal he and his wife combined made more than a million dollars in 2005 and 2006. From his salary as US Senator and his book deal, Audacity of Hope and Michelle Obama's position at the University of Chicago.

Hillary Clinton says she will release her tax returns in mid-April.

The state of Ohio is auditing Presidential primary elections it held earlier this month. It was one of the campaign promises of Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner. The audit will cover both paper ballots and electronic touch-screen voting machines and will happen in 11 counties.

It's the first time Ohio has done an audit on a presidential primary election. Election officials say it will help verify the election and help ensure election integrity in the future.

On the same day presumptive Republican nominee John McCain gives a speech on the economy in California, he receives a welcome endorsement, from former First Lady Nancy Reagan. Her husband's name was often used on the GOP campaign trail as all candidates likened themselves to her husband, President Ronald Reagan.
